PREPARATION & AFTERCARE

PREPPING FOR YOUR SPRAY TAN

  1. Schedule your spray tan accordingly. Plan to have all manicures, pedicures, massages, waxing, sugaring, and spa treatments done 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment.

  2. Shower, shave and exfoliate no less than 8 hours prior to your appointment. Do not shower right before! The steam/heat from the shower can open your pores, adversely affecting your tan and may cause the tan to settle into the pores causing a black freckled look. When exfoliating, focus on knees, elbows, hands, ankles.

  3. Do not use any oil-based lotions or bodywashes (Dove, Caress, Pantene) 24hrs prior to your scheduled appointment. Keep in mind that some products can also alter the PH of your body and act as a barrier to the spray tan. Please do not apply deodorant, perfumes, lotions, or makeup the day of your spray tan if possible.

  4. Please wear dark loose-fitting clothing to your appointment with open toe sandals, no elastic waistbands. They tend to leave marks around the waist. Bring a hair tie if you have long hair. Go commando to avoid lines from bras and underwear. If it is raining, please wear a baggy long sleeve shirt and baggy pants.

  5. Please keep in mind that the spray can transfer to other objects besides your clothing such as leather car seats. We suggest bringing a towel with you to place over your seat to avoid temporary staining.

AFTERCARE

  1. It is important to not get wet until your desired rinse time is reached. This includes perspiration. Avoid the gym or any activities that will make you sweat. Avoid doing the dishes, bathing your children, applying makeup, moisturizers, and most importantly...no crying! Lol

  2. Your first shower should be a rinse off with only warm water. Do not use soap. Pat yourself dry. Do not rub. Do not be alarmed to see color running off. That is the bronzer in the spray tan. The DHA has already absorbed into your skin. Do not exfoliate until you are ready for your spray tan to come off.

  3. Avoid baths, hot tubs, and swimming pools to make your tan last longer. Stay  hydrated to help your skin retain the spray tan. Use oil free moisturizers (CereVe, Aveeno).

  4. Apply mineral free sunscreen when outside. Spray tan solutions do not contain any UV protection
